Introduction
Myeongseongsan is located in Yeongbuk-myeon, Idong-myeon, Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi-do and Galmal-eup, Cheolwon-gun, Gangwon-do, with its altitude of 922.6m. The name came from a story that crown prince Maui of Unified Silla cried when passing this mountain and heading to Geumgangsan Mountain after the kingdom fell. It is a representative mountain of Northern Gyeonggi region. The mountain is filled with flame grass, and there's Sanjeong lake at the skirt of mountain which gives visitors a sense of comfort and pleasure. By the branch ridge heading South and North, the Western ridge is quiet steep so the hiking is quiet difficult but its large rocks feature magnificent scene. Eastern ridge has gentle steep and filled with soil, which allows easy hiking, and abundant flame grass is popular for hiking during fall season.
