Ginseng

Ginseng is the representative healthy food in Korea. Pocheon produces 6-year ginseng in the appropriate climate (including sunshine and the right temperature) as the farming hub in the northern region of the Han River in Korea. Furthermore, the productivity is higher than other regions because of the superior scent and shape. Pocheon also has the competitiveness of production including more ginseng farmers, higher cultivation technologies and a mass production facility.

Mushroom

Pocheon has the appropriate environment for the oyster mushroom. Pocheon is the best for harvesting and keeping oyster mushrooms because it has a lower average annual temperature than other regions, and more days of frost. It is also good for cultivating oyster mushrooms in summer because the farming facility is in a mountainous area. Pocheon produces the oyster mushroom, the specialty of Pocheon, the biggest producing district in Gyeonggi-do. Furthermore, Pocheon can deliver fresh mushrooms all year round because of its proximity to Seoul, the highest consumption area.

Grape

Pocheon produces delicious grapes favored by consumers because of its ideal climate for grapes including quality soil, proper humidity, clean underground water and abundant sunshine along with continuing efforts to develop new varieties.

Apple

The most preferred apple in Korea has changed from those produced in Chungnam and Gyeongbuk to those produced in Gyeonggi-do and Gangwon-do because of rapid global warming. The Fuji varieties cultivated in the northern region of Pocheon received very favorable reviews and have a very clear color.

Pine Nut

Pocheon pine nut with its distinguished taste and nutrition, as it was presented to the kings from long ago, is cultivated mainly in Geumdong-ri of Sinbuk-myeon and Deokdun-ri. It is securing its position as the famous specialty of Pocheon.
